My own experience today was pleasant. I did not follow common advice to factory reset nor wipe cache nor Dalvick cache as I was flashing a Samsung ROM. Simply entering a CWM recovery to install the Ditto ROM I entered into the upgrade cycle which kept all settings and apps. Am very pleased with updated Snote and the format of the files explorer.
It also comes with all Galaxy Note 3 features made available to Note 2 users.
I am very happy.

I had spoken to Samsung here in the UK who said they were not updating these two handsets. The fact is it is untrue to say Kit kat will not run on these. Custom ROM does work. The Samsung ROM however has problems due to the bloat ware it puts on this.
The best route is use CynogenROM 11 and get 4.4 that route installing updates through their ROM updates.

When you have a cracked screen the temptation is to buy so called Glass fronts and try to divide the glass from the LCD. You will break the digitizer and it will appear gold and no graphics will appear. It is best to change the digitizer and glass. My Note 2 was not a clear screen. Now it is.
The update to Google Play Services on Apkmirror.com is giving an update error loop. Please do not update
My new project is coming. We will look for the software and new Macbook hardware now that silicon will be the way to go.
