Z30

Having tested out the z30 the experience beyond the Hub is very limitted. As it is if you like entry level Smartphones then it will be ideal. Compared to today's Smartphones is very limitted.

I am so pleased with the beta of Android 6.0. It is fast and fluid. See screenshot. Battery life is not bad; with added Doze feature.

Samsung s6 Marshmallow review

Yesterday I learned that Samsung was asking for testers of their new software for Android 6.0. To qualify you need to be resident in Korea or the UK.

I downloaded and flashed the BTU rom from Sammobile and then Galaxy Care app and was invited to the Beta program.

Then after 12 hours I got notified of a update via OTA. This downloaded 1.2gb software and the description was Android 6.0 update. This took at least half an hour to complete.

The update for Google Play Services was asked for.

The experience is very fast. Performance is the best yet and doze feature saved so much battery.

Touchwiz has been flattened out even more. And is pleasing to see.

Overall this is great. Not encountered bugs yet. And once the full Rollout occurs it is inevitable that a new update will be pushed out.

Downloading the update to the beta Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6. I will report when I have a full appraisal.

Z30

Just been sent a 18 month old device. The z30. Fantastic fast os and great email ecosystem. The Hub an extended version of the Q10 is faster at delivery than Android or IOS.

It takes me back to the time I got a Z10 in February 2013. Was great to get a new phone and start from scratch. There were 2 software updates that year. But now we are on 10.3.2 .

Will update as to the experience.

Q10

Last post on Q10

The Q10 test has been positive. The only drawback is the small screen but as a business device and email is no falling behind flagships. The Blackberry email service is tops. However BB10 did not catch on I do not know. I am sending the device back soon but it's been a great experience.

Q10: why Blackberry was and can be tops again

My experience with Blackberry as a top unit is not rivalled by Android or IOS.  The email experience is brought together in the Hub. The Blackberry email service is quicker at delivery than other platforms.  Many look at Blackberry as a platform to be completely abandoned.  The reality is that it is superior in security and email.

Q10 first boot

Booting it up found it without any charge.  It came up with a 0015 error. Good start!

Testing the Q10

I received a Q10 in the post this morning. Although it is 2 years since it was launched it is overshadowed by the change to Android.  Let us test and see how the Blackberry OS has stood the last 2 years
