Big Sur Beta

Big Sur Beta new MacOS11.

I installed the Beta by subscribing to a Developer account on Apple and downloaded the Profile File to enable the MACBook to detect the Beta. After downloading 9.58GB of data it installed. My take is it is a better system in terms of graphics, in terms of speed, in terms of aesthetic. Keep posted. There are some bugs to iron out.

New Project; LG V30

The LG V30 arrived today. Surprising that its still running on Android 8.0. Now updating with LG Bridge

My Pixel Experience

My Pixel has now been sent back and I must say if you like the stock experience then it will be fast and snappy and updates will please including the Android 11 beta. My experience was good but found Android rather plain. I was not overall impressed. I have a Note 10 and for me the whole experience is so much better.

Android 11 Beta update

Have had Android 11 running a few days and being honest for it being a Beta it is remarkably stable and optimised. Most Google apps were updated to run on the new firmware. Hoping that Beta 2 will bring greater refinement. Battery life has now settled. Liking the new version.

Android 11 Beta 1 Battery life not good

Having flashed the Beta, battery life is quite bad, I know it will settle down. From 100% to 82 was 30 minutes. I hope it will settle or new beta is released.

Android 11 Beta 1 Pixel

Flashing the beta from the Android Flash tool lasted about half an hour. Was an amazing clean operating system. Updated apps and noted how much more mature a system it is above Android 10. I have not run into problems, and will test it out.

Android Flash Tool

The Android Flash 🔧 Tool is the most easiest of Chrome Based flash apps. I am using it on my Macbook. I flashed an aosp build by mistake and now flashing the Beta 1 as I originally planned.

My pixel arrived today. Am now installing the Beta for Android 11.

Samsung looking for new OLED manufacturers

Samsung has had some OLED screens fail the quality test for their up and coming S series phones for 2021. The stringent tests for quality ensure that the AMOLED screens come at the highest PPI rates and highest resolutions.

Corning and Samsung

Samsung is teaming up with Corning to develop new gorilla glass screens. This probably indicates that tougher glass is the coming.

My Journey with Samsung

My journey started with Samsung at Christmas 2014 with the Note 4.

The Note 4 was a departure from the plastic phones that were preceding this one. My daughter also had one. I did not have it long, about 4 months, when I felt it was beyond me. It was a wonderful phone, but sometimes lagged with the Old Touchwiz.

Then I had the Samsung Galaxy s6, mainly because MBKHD publicised it on his Youtube channel.

The s6 was a great phone, launched on Android 5.01. It was a rapid phone, and as the months went on, with the updates got so much better. The problem with the phone after having it for 2 years was one day browsing it closed down and would not load up again. I took it to the phone operator, they could not fix it. They alleged I had rooted it, so I had to have a new phone.

I knew about the s7 when I saw its unveiling live on my s6, so I was waiting for an upgrade, it came unexpectedly. It was a great phone. Fast and the updates made it so much better. Launched on Android 5.1, and I subscribed to the Nougat beta Christmas 2015. It was amazing beta update, loved it. I got a great deal from my operator at the time. It was fast and it was a great phone, recommend it even today.

In 2018 I got my new S8, but I broke it, the screen, on my car door, and got a new one paid by insurance. The s8 Plus.

My only complaint is that the Amoled screen burned in. I got severe burn in, and the phone was fast but the burn in had made it worthless.

In 2018 at the end I got the s9, which I had 2 years.

The s9 was an awesome phone, even upgraded it to Android 10 through Samsung's Beta Programme. The lockdown came in 2020, March and I was charging it 3 or 4 times a day, it was no longer holding its charge. So I got a great deal to upgrade. My phone today is the Note 10.

The experience is awesome, and I am so looking forward to the Beta Programme. I love Samsung, personal taste of mine.

Android 11 Beta 1

As promised Google pushed Android 11 first beta. An important milestone in the update and refinement of the Android ecosystem.

It is hoped as 4 betas are released that mobile manufacturers publish which flagships and midrange phones 📱 will get the update.
